Fox News’s Sean Hannity tore into House Speaker John Boehner yesterday, calling on the Ohio Republican to resign and let Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) take over.
“The American people need bold inspiring solutions to reverse the damaging policies of the President and his party. This is not a time for half measures…it’s time for new dynamic leadership in the House of Representatives,” Hannity wrote in an email to Breitbart.
“Trey Gowdy is my choice for speaker. He has the ability to articulate and implement the changes needed to get the country on the right path,” he wrote.
Hannity criticized Boehner for publicly supporting House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) who admitted this week that he spoke at a white supremacist gathering in the early 2000s.
He also blasted the speaker for being weak on spending.
“John Boehner has snubbed and ignored conservatives for too long as evidenced by the recent cromnibus budget deal he made with Obama, Reid and Hoyer,” Hannity said.
“It’s time he step aside for the good of country and the conservative movement,” he added.
