On a cold, snowy Friday morning in Staten Island, New York, a 9-year-old boy was walking to school alone when a man who was following him on foot began randomly stabbing the child on the head, neck, and shoulders. The horrifying attack was caught by a local business’ outdoor surveillance system.
The child victim, Jermaine Culver, bravely managed to get away from his attacker, after a brief moment of passing out, and ran back to his house where his mother, Tyana Darby, was home. Darby immediately alerted police before taking her son to the hospital for his injuries. Officers are now on the lookout for the assailant who has been described as a black male wearing dark clothing, according to Staten Island Live.
Culver was treated for the stab wounds at an area hospital and released on Saturday, but he still suffers from the deep emotional wounds the terrifying attack caused.
