WATCH: Jon Stewart Rips Into Kansas Republicans: “There’s No Place Like Homophobia”

Following Kansas Governor Sam Brownback’s decision to repeal a law that protects gay men and women from discrimination in the workplace, “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart questioned whether the decision was a clear cut example of homophobia.

“As you know, our country has been making very positive strides in LGBT equality, but don’t worry, Kansas is trying to fix that,” Stewart said.

“I guess Brownback clicked his heels and three times and said, ‘There’s no place like homophobia.’”

Stewart also included Alabama in his criticism, chiding the state’s Chief Supreme Court Justice Ray Moore for trying to strike down the Supreme Court’s decision to allow gay marriage in Alabama.

“This is about real people, whose lives are being affected by this right now.”

  1. Stewart has picked a perfect time to depart. Kids take him seriously, he’s a comedic political genus, but with the Brian Williams melt down among others, it’s time he follow his dreams of film directing.
