Following Kansas Governor Sam Brownback’s decision to repeal a law that protects gay men and women from discrimination in the workplace, “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart questioned whether the decision was a clear cut example of homophobia.
“As you know, our country has been making very positive strides in LGBT equality, but don’t worry, Kansas is trying to fix that,” Stewart said.
“I guess Brownback clicked his heels and three times and said, ‘There’s no place like homophobia.’”
Stewart also included Alabama in his criticism, chiding the state’s Chief Supreme Court Justice Ray Moore for trying to strike down the Supreme Court’s decision to allow gay marriage in Alabama.
“This is about real people, whose lives are being affected by this right now.”
