As the reader will note in their “Mission Statement,” found here, they are tasked with doing much the same things as other agencies within our bloated federal bureaucracy, specifically the EPA and Department of the Interior.

In a move that’s prompting questions about the stockpiling of weapons by the federal government’s nonmilitary agencies, the Bureau of Reclamation wants to buy 52,000 rounds of ammunition for use in law enforcement at Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

After learning about the purchase request, Nevada Rep. Mark Amodei vowed to inquire with the bureau about its operations, number of officers carrying firearms and how much ammunition it uses, according Brian Baluta, a spokesman for Amodei.

Department officials declined to provide specific information to the Sun regarding details of the ammunition purchase request.pentagon_bureaucracy

“We want to limit the amount of information any bad guys might have about our protection capabilities,” said Rose Davis, a Bureau of Reclamation spokeswoman.

A review of federal procurement records by the Sun shows that the Bureau of Reclamation, best known for its management of Western waterways and dams, solicited bids in June for 41,600 rounds of hollow-point ammunition along with 10,400 rounds of shotgun ammunition.

The agency declined to say how many armed officers work at Hoover Dam and how many security threats it faces each year, but according to a 2008 review of federal law enforcement, the bureau had 21 officers patrolling Hoover Dam.

The bureau’s Boulder City office oversees the agency’s operations at Hoover Dam and the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, a vacation destination that sees more visitors than Yellowstone National Park every year.

Chicago Police Chief Solution To July 4th Bloodbath – Why More “Gun Laws” Of Course…

July 7, 2015

The Last RefugeThe thugs in Chicago don’t obey current gun laws, so the Police Chief’s moonbat solution is to give them more laws they can ignore. Brilliant !

CHICAGO – Ten people, including a seven-year-old boy, were killed in shootings in Chicago over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Police superintendent Garry McCarthy acknowledged that his department’s decision to increase the police presence in the city by 30% in anticipation of holiday violence had not prevented the killings – and called for more restrictive gun laws. Last year 14 people were killed in Chicago over the Fourth of July weekend.

“If you think that putting more cops on the street would make a difference, then take a look at the fact that we put a third more manpower on the street for this weekend,” McCarthy said.

“What’s the result? We’re getting more guns. Well, that’s great,” he said. “It’s not stopping the violence. And it’s not going to stop the violence until criminals are held accountable and something is done to stem the flow of these guns into our city.”

The youngest person killed this weekend was Amari Brown, seven, who was shot on Saturday night while watching fireworks with his father. McCarthy said that the gunfire was aimed at Brown’s father – who was described as a “ranking gang member” by police. A 26-year-old woman was also struck in the shooting.  (read more)

Watch: Ex-CNN Anchor Tells Gun Control Activists To ‘SHUT THE F*** Up!!’

Lynn Russell

We The People:

It’s great when people following the law stick it to those who refuse to follow it.

This is another reason we have the Second Amendment, to be able to defend ourselves from criminals, not just those of the political persuasion.

Lynne Russell: The Second Amendment saved my life

Ex-CNN Anchor, Lynne Russell’s husband kills robber in shootout

Lynne Russell thanks the right to keep and bear arms for keeping her and her husband alive during an armed robbery on June 30th. The former CNN anchor and Chuck de Caro, formerly a CNN reporter, were held at gun point in an Albuquerque Motel 6 room by felon Tomorio Walton.

What ensued was a stand-off that left Walton dead and de Caro shot three times. Russell was not injured in the shootout.

Russell told FOX411 that having a gun “absolutely” saved their lives.

“The discussion over the debate to own a gun is just ridiculous.

As Americans we have the right to bear arms and as humans the right to protect ourselves.

I’m sure that the man who shot my husband did not have a gun permit. Criminals will always have guns. The rest of us legally obtain our gun permits.”

Russell and de Caro have been long time advocates for carrying guns legally. The author of “Hell on Heels” explains the decision should be an individual one, and those who do not want to carry should not weigh in on the gun control conversation.

“If you don’t want to carry please don’t. Then, shut the f–k up about it. Make your own decisions. “

She adds that the government should stop arguing about gun control and pass a law that states.

“If you committed a violent crime you can’t get a gun permit. Simple law.”

What hasn’t been so simple is de Caro’s recovery process. Russell said it will still be another few weeks before her “hero” is released from the hospital however he has had his breathing tube removed, and is doing better each day.

Chuck_DeCaroShe thanks her husband’s Special Forces background, and cool head for saving her life.

“I’m so grateful to him. He literally is my hero. He saved my life.

I’m grateful that he is a responsible gun owner.

He’s former Special Forces. He knows how to handle himself.”

Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Simon Drobik said last Friday that de Caro would not face charges. The investigation is ongoing.

Democrat Councilman SHOCKS Room With His Outburst As A Resident Pushes Back On Gun Control

June 26, 2015

Mad World News: by Sean Brown

A recent city council meeting in New York paved the way for residents and politicians to discuss a proposed anti-gun measure, and when a man who lived in the town pushed back against the idea, a Democrat councilman left others in the room stunned.

The June 15 meeting in Poughkeepsie, New York included debate over a controversial proposal to force gun owners in the city to lock up all of their firearms when they’re not in use, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. What should have been an open forum for residents and lawmakers to discuss their opinions on the issue, quickly went south after members from the Dutchess County chapter of the Shooter Committee on Political Education tried to offer their input on the measure, sending Democrat Councilman Joe Rich into a fury.

Apparently, Rich wasn’t a fan of the dissenting opinions, which really isn’t surprising given his political leanings. However, the manner in which he handled the situation couldn’t have been any worse.

“I know why you’re doing this, because you don’t want us to have a law…that would cause you a lot of trouble out there,” Rich said to gun rights advocates. “You don’t want them to work…that’s the truth. You’re here to make sure that these laws never get a chance to find out if they are going to work or not.”

Of course, the idea has been tried and was a failure, like most every other gun control measure, but that didn’t stop Rich from further tearing into the group, accusing them of not “loving” the city and also claiming they don’t even live within it. Does that sound familiar at all?

“There are people here that live in the 2nd Ward…,” a man said, responding to Rich’s inaccurate assertion. “You know I live in the 2nd Ward.”

Queue the liberal rage.

“Quiet! You’re not recognized!” Rich shouted. “Shut up! You’re not recognized…I’m tired of having people from the audience interrupt me! I’ve listened to all you people from 5 p.m.! Shut up!”

You people? Sounds like a stereotype to me. Anyways, the meeting was adjourned for 10 minutes, which didn’t seem to do much good. The fascist Rich refused to listen to citizens concerned over their Second Amendment rights being violated and the government overstepping its bounds by trying to inject itself into their homes, so the debate raged on.

After the meeting, when asked about the explosive outburst, Rich claimed he “didn’t mean” to lose his temper, but he felt the group was being abusive by showing up in large numbers, and get this, wearing t-shirts supporting their cause. Typical liberal, cry victim whenever they can’t control themselves.

BREAKING: CONCEALED CARRY RECIPROCITY BILL FILED IN SENATE

d

February 13, 2015

We The People:

Comment by Jim Campbell, Citizen Journalist, Oath Keeper and Patriot.Enough of the Kabuki theater with the fools who continually try to manipulate the 2nd Amendment.

It’s time for all Americans to carry if they choose to do so.

After all, it’s tough do deal with FBI and the D.O.J. Statistics which show clearly that a well armed populace is a safer populace.

“Gun owners would be allowed to carry concealed weapons around the country under new legislation introduced in the Senate. The Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow gun owners who have a concealed carry permit in their home state to bring their firearms in any other state with concealed-carry laws.” So touts thehill.com in reporting Texas Senator John Cornyn’s bill, filed just today. Now that’s #gunsense . . .

The NRA is certainly on board.

“The current patchwork of state and local laws is confusing for even the most conscientious and well-informed concealed carry permit holders. This confusion often leads to law-abiding gun owners running afoul of the law when they exercise their right to self-protection while traveling or temporarily living away from home,” said Chris Cox, executive director of the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action.

But that popping sound you hear in the distance is coming from the tops of heads at Everytown for Gun Safety HQ.

3027814_orig

Note, anti gun zealots like Michael Bloomberg back this group which can’t use the American flag as part of their logo.

“Federally imposed concealed carry laws interfere with states’ fundamental right to determine who is too dangerous to carry hidden, loaded guns in public,” Everytown for Gun Safety President John Feinblatt told The Hill.

Assuming it gets through the Senate and House, it’s bigger veto bait for the President than a bill that would dismantle ObamaCare. Still, it’s good to get congresscritters on record and should make for some entertaining political theater.
