The Last Refuge:

History needs to be corrected.  In the post Charlie Hebdo attack aftermath, every media outlet said U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry asked James Taylor to fly to Paris.  Actually, the opposite is true; James Taylor’s wife asked Secretary Kerry to come to Paris.  Nice to know what’s actually driving our diplomatic endeavors…. 

Buried in a recent Billboard interview we find this:

In January, after the Charlie Hebdo murders in France, you sang “You’ve Got a Friend” at a rally in Paris, which Secretary of State John Kerry attended. How did that come about?

At the time of the attacks, my wife and I were in Switzerland, taking vacation time before I went to Paris to do press for a tour of Europe. John and Teresa Kerry are, I would say, our good friends.

Kim was texting him after the attacks and said, “John, I think you need to go to Paris.” They were having a solidarity march two days after the attack. But John had to be in Peshawar, for a secret meeting.

He said, “I’ll be there as soon as I can.”

When he came to Paris, we had dinner and he said, “I’m giving a speech with the mayor tomorrow. James, will you sing ‘You’ve Got a Friend’?”

It was done at the drop of a hat. When I stood up to sing, my guitar wasn’t working. So the mayor [Anne Hidalgo] came over and held her mic in front of my guitar. (link)

So, Once Again, Obama Lies To The American People

Already rushing to the microphones to try and use the murders in a South Carolina church to undermine the U.S. Constitution and push his loser gun control ideas, Barack Obama lied today saying that the US is the only country with mass murders.

During his press conference today Obama said, “This kind of mass violence does not happen in other advanced countries.”

But this simply isn’t true. We have but to look to France only a few months ago when Islamists murdered 12 members of the staff of Charlie Hebdo magazine.

But there have been many, many other examples of mass likkings abroad.

Here is just a partial list of other mass murders in foreign countries…

July 22, 2011: Confessed mass killer Anders Behring Breivik kills 77 in Norway in twin attacks: a bombing in downtown Oslo and a shooting massacre at a youth camp outside the capital. The self-styled anti-Muslim militant admitted both attacks.

April 30, 2009: Farda Gadyrov, 29, enters the prestigious Azerbaijan State Oil Academy in the capital, Baku, armed with an automatic pistol and clips. He kills 12 people before killing himself as police close in.

Sept. 23, 2008: Matti Saari, 22, walks into a vocational college in Kauhajoki, Finland, and opens fire, killing 10 people and burning their bodies with firebombs before shooting himself fatally in the head.

Nov. 7, 2007: After revealing plans for his attack in YouTube postings, 18-year-old Pekka-Eric Auvinen fires kills eight people at his high school in Tuusula, Finland.

January 7, 2015: Islamists murdered 12 people in Paris during the Charlie Hebdo attacks.

April 26, 2002: Robert Steinhaeuser, 19, who had been expelled from school in Erfurt, Germany, kills 13 teachers, two former classmates and policeman, before committing suicide.

April 28, 1996: Martin Bryant, 29, bursts into cafeteria in seaside resort of Port Arthur in Tasmania, Australia, shooting 20 people to death. Driving away, he kills 15 others. He was captured and imprisoned.

March 13, 1996: Thomas Hamilton, 43, kills 16 kindergarten children and their teacher in elementary school in Dunblane, Scotland, and then kills himself.

Dec. 6, 1989: Marc Lepine, 25, bursts into Montreal’s Ecole Polytechnique college, shooting at women he encounters, killing nine and then himself.

Aug. 19, 1987: Michael Ryan, 27, kills 16 people in small market town of Hungerford, England, and then shoots himself dead.

And that is only a partial list. It doesn’t include mass stabbings, some school murders, and even the Charlie Hebdo murders aren’t there.

So, once again, Obama lies to the American people.

Several Christians Were Burned Alive Inside the Churches

Forty-five churches were torched over the weekend in Niger’s capital during deadly protests over the publication of a Prophet Mohammad cartoon by the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo, police said on Monday.

The protests, which left five people dead and 128 people injured in Niamey, also saw a Christian school and orphanage set alight, Adily Toro, a spokesman for the national police, told a press conference.

Similar unrest sparked by the French satirical weekly, which was targeted by a bloody Islamist raid on January 7, saw five people killed in the southern city of Zinder, where 45 were wounded.

In the attack on Charlie Hebdo, gunmen slew 12 people, saying they were avenging previous publications of cartoons depicting the prophet. A week later staff defiantly produced a “survivors’ issue” with a new cartoon, winning backing from vocal supporters of freedom of expression, but further provoking Muslims in a number of countries.

“The French flag was burned,” Toro said, adding that 189 people, including two minors, were arrested by police. Demonstrators also pillaged and burned numerous premises, including five hotels and 36 bars.

Dramatic footage of the Charlie Hebdo terrorists has emerged online, showing the gunmen calmly leaving the magazine’s office in their car after murdering 12 people. The extremists are seen firing at a police car upon escaping the crime scene.

Filmed from a nearby window, the video shows two armed masked men, dressed in black – later identified as Said and Cherif Kouachi – approaching a black Citroen car. By the vehicle, the terrorists calmly check their ammunition and reload their guns, placing one of the automatic rifles on top of the car.

“We have avenged the Prophet Mohammed,” one of the armed men is heard shouting in French.

“That’s France for you,” a man filming the scene is heard commenting behind the camera.

After a brief discussion, the two attackers get into the car and start driving off. However, the man continues filming, apparently learning out of his window, and shows a police car driving down the narrow street towards the black Citroen.

Magazine to print up to 3 million copies of new issue following soaring demand. On newsstands this week…

PARIS: Up to 3 Million copies of Charlie Hebdo could hit newsstands this week, dwarfing its usual print run of 60,000, in response to soaring demand for the first edition of the satirical weekly since last week’s deadly attacks by Islamist militants.

Seventeen people, including journalists and police, were killed in three days of violence that began on Jan. 7 when militants burst into Charlie Hebdo’s office during a regular editorial meeting and shot dead five of its leading cartoonists.

Liberation newspaper, now temporarily housing Charlie Hebdo operations, revealed the front page of the Jan. 14 edition via Twitter late on Monday – an image of the Prophet Muhammad holding a sign saying “JE SUIS CHARLIE” (“I am Charlie”) below the headline “TOUT EST PARDONNE” (“All is forgiven”).

An initial batch of 1 million copies will be available on Wednesday and Thursday, said Michel Salion, a spokesman for MPL, which distributes Charlie Hebdo. A further 2 million could then be printed depending on demand.

“We have requests for 300,000 copies throughout the world – and demand keeps rising by the hour,” Salion said, adding that the newspaper usually had just 4,000 international clients.

“The million will go. As of Thursday, the decision will probably be taken to print extra copies … So we’ll have one million, plus two if necessary.”

In the wake of the brutal terrorist attack in Paris, the clandestine hacktivist group Anonymous has released a chilling video declaring war on the Islamic State and other radical groups, and according to reports, they’ve already claimed their first victim.

On Thursday, Anonymous posted a video to YouTube describing their latest campaign to avenge the attack on Charlie Hebdo, a French satire magazine, which they’re calling #OpCharlieHebdo, according to the Mirror. The chilling video features a man in a Guy Fawkes mask speaking in French with his voice digitally obscured, explaining that members of Anonymous have decided to “declare war on you, the terrorists,” specifically calling out the Islamic State and al-Qaeda.

“We will track you down – every last one – and will kill you,” the spokesman says. “You allowed yourselves to kill innocent people, we will therefore avenge their deaths.”

The representative explains that members across the globe will work to track all activities of the jihadists online and close down their social media accounts on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

“You will not impose your sharia law in our democracies,” he continues. “We will not let your stupidity kill our liberties and our freedom of expression. We have warned you; expect your destruction.”

The roughly minute-long video closes in the usual fashion of Anonymous by reminding their targets of just how far the group’s reach is.

“We will track you everywhere on the planet, nowhere will you be safe. We are Anonymous,” the video says. “We are legion. We do not forget. We do not forgive. Be afraid of us, Islamic State and al-Qaeda – you will get our vengeance.”
