Watch Vets Enraged! Controvercy Over Trying To Ban The POW/MIA Flag And Calling It Racist

POW/MIA Flag

Banning the Confederate flag because some deemed it to be an abomination and showed a lack of empathy for African Americans just doesn’t seem to be enough for Liberal America. Now it seems the POW/MIA flag (fashioned by Prisoner of War families in retort to horrific treatment at the hands of the North Vietnamese) is now in the Left’s radar.

An article in Newsweek, by Rick Perlstein, declares that the POW/MIA flag is nothing but a cult fashioned by Richard Nixon and that the horrific maltreatment of POW’s by the Vietnamese is nothing more than evil folklore useful only to “venal right-wing politicians.”

“Richard Nixon invented the cult of the POW/MIA in order to justify the carnage in Vietnam in a way that rendered the United States as its sole Victim,” stated Perlstein. The POW/MIA flag is nothing more than “political propaganda used to hide war crimes.”

History, however, paints a different picture of the POW/MIA flag and there seems to be no historical proof to support Perlstein’s declarations.

The POW/MIA flag is seen by many as a symbol of not only representing the Vietnam War but also the representation of all wars, a flag of remembrance. It was created by the National League of Families in 1972 and officially recognized by Congress during the Vietnam War.

Perlstein and the Newsweek editor have issued apologies. Perlstein stated, “I sincerely regret the use of the word ‘racist’ to describe how the POW/MIA flag distorts the history of the Vietnam War. The word was over the top and not called for. I am deeply sorry it hurt people – especially people who’ve selflessly served their country.”

Yet, he did not apologize for saying “the POW/MIA flag distorts the history of the Vietnam War.”

From the Vietnam War alone 1,600 Americans remain unaccounted for and Veterans and their families are enraged by the Newsweek piece. Not alone in his sentiment, Vietnam War Veteran Jim Markson stated, “The POW/MIA flag represents “one of the highest military traditions and patriotism in this country.”

But, has the damage already been done by Perlstein? Will the families of these true heroes have to endure the slander and slaughter of a flag flown proud and in reverent memory of loved ones and years gone by because of the reckless writings of an ill-informed individual?

We are living in a new world America. Wake up.

Marion County Florida Votes To Restore Flying Confederate Flag…

dJuly 8, 2015

The Last Refuge

FLORIDA – The Marion County Commission on Tuesday unanimously agreed to restore the Confederate flag that had been removed from the McPherson Governmental Complex two weeks ago.

Several members of the public spoke in favor of restoring the flag during the commission’s bi-monthly meeting on Tuesday morning. At the end of the meeting, the commission unanimously agreed to restore the flag. It will also create a historical display so that people can understand the significance of the Confederate flag as well as the other flags flying in front of the complex.

The Confederate flag was removed in the wake of the June 17 killing of African-American churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina. The accused killer had expressed racist beliefs and had been pictured waving the Confederate flag.

Towns throughout the South removed the flag.

Interim County Administrator Bill Kauffman decided to remove the flag because of the “perceived connotations of displaying the flag at governmental agencies,” said Marion County spokeswoman Barbra Hernandez.

At the same time, the county is “respectful of history,” Hernandez explained. On that note, many people throughout the County voiced concern over removing the flag.

“What I realized is that we have not done justice to the historical display,” commission Chairman Stan McClain said at Tuesday’s meeting. “I’m sure most folks are in favor of educating the community.”  (read more)

As Confederate Flag Anger Grows, Obama Makes MAJOR Terrorism Policy Change

dJune 24, 2015

Mad World Newsby Sean Brown

The debate over the Confederate flag has boiled over into a nationwide topic as people demand its removal from everything in the public square. Never letting a good crisis go to waste, Barack Obama quietly announced a major change to our terrorism policy, and it has a lot of people scared that it will endanger Americans both here and abroad.

According to CNN, the United States has long held the position that our nation doesn’t negotiate with terrorists under any circumstances whatsoever, as doing so only empowers them and makes them more likely to commit horrible acts in the future. Unfortunately, that’s all about to change, thanks to our spineless president.

When James Foley was abducted by ISIS, his family was very vocal about the lack of effective action in freeing their son. In fact, his mother, Diane, said she was “embarrassed and appalled” by our government and its inability to rescue James.

It was the Foley family and 82 others who ultimately paved the way for the new shift, which will ease the restrictions on both families and government when it comes to striking a deal with hostages.

According to CNN:

The White House will release on Wednesday a presidential directive and an executive order that will allow the government to communicate and negotiate with terrorist groups holding Americans hostage, a source briefed on the matter told CNN.

While the government will maintain its policy of not making “substantive concessions” to captors or paying ransoms, the White House will announce that officials will no longer threaten with criminal prosecution the families of American hostages who do pay ransoms to their relatives’ captors, according to a senior administration official.

You terrified yet? I am, and you should be. There’s a reason we’ve never negotiated with terrorists, and allowing it will only empower them to become bolder when it comes to taking hostages. In fact, it’s estimated that the majority of the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group’s revenue comes from collecting ransom for abductees, despite the long held position we won’t negotiate, so what do you think this will lead to?

My fears aren’t unsubstantiated, either. House Speaker John Boehner (R- Ohio) said that he has similar concerns and feels the change in our 200-year-old policy will only further endanger Americans here and abroad.

“I’ve not seen the report nor have I seen an analysis of it, but we have had a policy in the United States for over 200 years of not paying ransom and not negotiating with terrorists and the concern that I have is that by lifting that long held principle you could be endangering more Americans here and overseas,” Boehner said.

So it appears as if Obama, who knew for some time now this change was going to happen, used the cover of controversy to once again pull the wool over our eyes as he empowered our enemies. Is it anything new? No, not in the least. But this is a major change, and it’s undoubtedly one that will put more lives at risk.

Individually, his actions can be explained away as either incompetence or poor decision-making. However, taken as a whole, I’m really beginning to think he’s trying to take our nation down from within, which would make sense, given the past of his chief adviser, Valerie Jarrett.

Amazon has reacted to a surge in purchases of Confederate flags in the wake of the Charleston shooting by announcing it will yank all Confederate flag merchandise from its website. The decision came after EBay and Wal-Mart made similar decisions.
However, plenty of other items some may consider “offensive” are still easily purchased on Amazon. Take a look at a select few below:
1. The Holocaust Hoax Exposed: Debunking the 20th Century’s Greatest Fabrication

Holocaust denial may be illegal in over a dozen countries, but you can still buy many different books on Amazon promoting this ahistorical attitude.

2. The flag of Apartheid-era South Africa, just like the one that was on Dylann Roof’s jacket.

3. Swastika skins for your Playstation 4.

President Obama Makes Absurd Claims On Racism & Slavery, Uses N-Word [VIDEO]

dJune 23, 2015

Mad World News: by Phoenix Rose

The topic of racism has made its way to the forefront of the political arena. Since the shooting in Charleston, South Carolina last week every politician has shared their thoughts on why Dylann Roof shot nine innocent people in their church. The debate has turned to the Confederate flag that flies in the state capitol, gun control, and even the Millennial generation. Now, President Barak Obama has decided to weigh in with his own thoughts.

In an interview with comedian Marc Maron for his popular podcast, where crass language is often used, our president sat down to talk about racism. Obama said that while attitudes on race have improved since he was born to a white mother and a black father, the legacy of slavery “casts a long shadow and that’s still part of our DNA that’s passed on.”

I’d love to hear about the science behind that statement. What he’s really describing is learned behavior, not something genetic. It’s people like Obama that willfully pass it on to the next generation.

I’d love to hear about the science behind that statement. What he’s really describing is learned behavior, not something genetic. It’s people like Obama that willfully pass it on to the next generation.

Obama also threw his two cents in on the murders in Charleston, saying, “Racism, we are not cured of it, and it’s not just a matter of it not being polite to say n****r in public. That’s not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It’s not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don’t, overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior.”

He’s actually right on this point, because we have people who constantly bring it up, despite the fact that no one alive today ever was a slave or owned one. It’s a part of our history, and that’s where it should remain.

He then turned his attention to his favorite topic — gun control. “The grip of the NRA on Congress is extremely strong,” he said. “I will tell you, right after Sandy Hook, Newtown, when 20 6-year-olds are gunned down, and Congress literally does nothing — yes, that’s the closest I came to feeling disgusted. I was pretty disgusted.”

Obama said it’s important to respect that hunting and sportsmanship are important to gun-owning Americans, but still believes that more can be done to stop evil people from committing crimes. “The question is just is there a way of accommodating that legitimate set of traditions with some common-sense stuff that prevents a 21-year-old who is angry about something or confused about something, or is racist, or is deranged, from going into a gun store and suddenly is packing, and can do enormous harm,” President Obama said in a reference to suspect Dylann Roof’s twisted manifesto

Bill Maher Blames Right-Wing Media For Charleston: ‘They Present a Really Twisted View’

June 23, 2015

On Friday, the host of Real Time with Bill Maher took aim at Republicans and conservative media for fostering the ‘twisted view’ adopted by Charleston shooter Dylann Roof.
Bill Maher’s gloves came off on Friday, as the host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher slammed the right wing for influencing the warped worldview of Dylann Roof, the vile terrorist who shot nine African-Americans to death in a historic black church in Charleston, South Carolina, in order to, he said, “start a race war.”

Specifically, Maher criticized right-wing media, including conservative-leaning news organizations like Fox News, The Drudge Report, and The Daily Caller, for helping to mold the racist mind of Roof.

“Well, we can never tell why someone snaps, but I bet you I can tell ya where he got his news,” Maher said. “I looked at [The Daily Caller] the last week, it was a lot of stories about black people. Same with Matt Drudge. I think they present a really twisted view. I’m not surprised this guy thought they’re ‘taking over the country.’ Obviously, he has a warped mind, that’s going into it, but I don’t think it was video games. And I do think the media is responsible to a degree. I wouldn’t say we should be droning Fox News, but we did drone Anwar al-Awlaki because he inspired people. He didn’t do terrorist acts, he just inspired them.”

“They hate being called ‘racists,’ conservatives, but isn’t denying racism in and of itself a form of racism?”
“On Fox News, they could not decide if this was absolutely not the right time to talk about guns, or absolutely not the right time to talk about racism,” Maher continued. “And yet, you know, the shooter purposely went to a black church, he told the victims he had to do it because they were ‘taking over,’ he wore pro-Apartheid stickers on his jacket, his friends said he was big into segregation, he talked about starting ‘a race war,’ so naturally, when it comes to what motivated him, Republicans are stumped. They are. They cannot figure it out!”

Indeed, many Republican politicians refused to use the word “racism” when describing the motivations of Roof, despite a ton of evidence—including his own confession—to support that this was indeed a racially-motivated hate crime, and an atrocious act of terrorism.

“The Governor of South Carolina, Nikki Haley, said, ‘We’ll never understand.’ Jeb Bush: ‘We can’t know.’ Jindal, Lindsay Graham, all of them said some version of, ‘It’s incomprehensible. There’s no way to know what motivated a racist to kill black people,’” said Maher. “Fellas, you know what? When a guy like this talks about, ‘The South will rise again,’ he’s not talking about IQ levels. This guy openly said he was trying to ‘start a race war,’ which is delusional, because if Donald Trump’s speech didn’t do it the day before, nothing will.”

Maher added: “There are words you can’t say on the right. One of them is taxes—as in we’re going to raise them—and one of them is racism. They hate being called ‘racists,’ conservatives, but isn’t denying racism in and of itself a form of racism?”

The Real Time panel also briefly weighed in on the Confederate flag which flies over the State Capitol of South Carolina, with Maher saying, “It’s a flag of treason! It’s a treasonous act!”

He opened the Charleston talk with a joke during his monologue about Roof.

“It’s amazing—these white men who believe they’re a member of the master race always look like the half-wit who sprays fungicide in the shoes of the bowling alley,” said Maher.

The Decision Has Been Made To Remove The Confederate Flag….

Confederate FlagJune 23, 2015

The Last Refuge: (Image credit, The Last Refuge)

The bigger question is:

Are we a Constitutional Republic, or a Democracy?

This won’t stop folks, it just won’t.

As soon as South Carolina caved under public pressure to remove the Confederate flag from government buildings etc., the next phase went into full effect.

The confederate flag is proclaimed as a symbol of racism and oppression.  Those same activists view the U.S.A stars and stripes the same way.

What is to become of monuments and memorials to Southern generals and history.  Surely, all of that is just as offensive to the same crowd of activists.  Mississippi State university?  Ol Miss?   “The Rebel” sports groups?

Ponce De Leon, Christopher Columbus, General Lee…. where do you stop?  When will you reach a point that no-one is offended?  The Alamo?  Washington Park?  Gettysburg?  Penns Landing?

It won’t stop folks.  These same people will tear it all down, and will eventually be telling the people in Massachusetts that Plymouth Rock is a symbol of white oppression and racism.

Some folks may laugh and dismiss the controversy, but predicting where this is headed is really a no brainer.
